SafLok – Electronic Key Locks for Apartments

Do you own an apartment complex?

Have you considered installing electronic locks?

SafLok is a vendor of electronic locks and they seem to have a large customer base. Their product seems to be a fine product but there is an issue you should know about the software SafLok uses to program your keys.

The SafLok software is called SAM. This software WILL NOT RUN on a computer that has hypertreading or has more than 1 processor. This problem basically makes any computer made within the past 3-4 years not capable of using their software. The only way to make the SafLok software work is to disable the second processor.

Well this is absolutely stupid. Why?get a new computer to get more performance when you have to cripple the computer. The problem is not the computer manufacturer but is caused by the programmers not coding the program correctly.

Why do I tell you this?

Because if you in the market for a product like this you need to be aware of this problem and should do your due diligence in finding a suitable product.

How do I know this?

Because I have dealt with this problem first hand with a customer of ours and we are trying to resolve the problem.
