On this page you type in the Term you want to be notified about. What to search (blogs are probably best). How often and then your email address.

Also, if you have already search for a term on the Google Blog Search Page you can scroll to the bottom and setup alerts also by RSS.

One reason my blog has such an odd name is that I knew it would make it easier to track in the search engines. Google “lenderama” and it’s all about my blog.

Todd – you are a visionary. That never crossed my mind when I started.

Loren – great post. If you’re not monitoring your name through google, icerocket, etc. you’re doing yourself a disservice. Your clients and potential clients are checking you out – you should be too.

Awhile back, I read about a new type of PR firm, that focused on repairing on-line reputations, using SEO to reduce the impact of negative comments, etc. It is really important to track your on-line presence, and the Google Alert you are recommending is excellent!

This is a very useful tool my office has been using to keep track of anything mentioned about us on the net. I also set one up for myself personally. You never know!!
