Never TOO Old to Become Tech Savvy

This week I was holding an open tech class where anybody in the Broker’s office could come in and have a tech problem fixed or a tech question answered.

One lady came in and wanted help fixing a problem opening attachments, but when I started asking questions such as, “What program do you use?” and “What kind of file was it?” she gave me the answer – “I don’t know, I’m too old to know about that tech stuff”. After a few minutes I did figure out she was using Outlook Web Access and I typed up a little instruction sheet on how to download the file first but I don’t know if it helped.

Back to the “I am too old to learn this tech stuff”gettingold.jpg

That line is the biggest cop-out and I hate hearing it. There is no such thing as “I can’t” or “I’m too old”

Case in point:

The Real Estate Bloggers had and article last September about The Oldest Bloggers.  The two spring chickens featured in the article weren’t too old to learn to blog. If they can do it anyone can.

Anybody can learn any subject. It just takes a willingness to learn. If you say things like “I’m too old” or “I can’t” you are immediately accepting failure by saying those types of things.

Becoming Tech Savvy can be done in many ways. The best way for me is to learn by pushing the buttons. Just push the button and see what happens, your not going to kill it.

Another way to learn is by using a Technology Coach. Your Local Tech and The Future of Real Estate Technology Coach will be offering soon a Technology Coaching program different from all the rest. Stay Tuned
