WordPress Foreclosure Listing Plugin

Would you like to feature foreclosures on your Real Estate blog?

Now there is a solution.

Foreclosure.com WordPress Plugin

WordPress Foreclosure Listings Plugin delivers a complete real estate search and navigation environment quickly and easily by querying the Foreclosure.com database in real-time. Once you download and activate the resource, WordPress Foreclosure Listings Plugin will create a WordPress page and a search widget. Much of the data will be served by the Foreclosure.com database but will appear to come from your blog.

This plugin is very full featured. Once you activate the plugin it will automatically create a “Foreclosure Search” page for you and then you can also add a search widget to your sidebar. The plugin also has a MS Virtual Earth pop-up so when a visitor puts their mouse over a listing they get a satellite view of the property.

The biggest problem I see with this plugin is that it is actually a lead generation tool for foreclosure.com NOT YOU! Now if you want you can sign up for an affiliate account with foreclosure.com and earn commissions.

IMO – I would NOT run this on my Real Estate blog that you write. It might benefit your readers but it drives traffic AWAY from you. Now I could be wrong but I don’t know if foreclosure.com would send the lead back to you if the searcher wants to make an offer and needs a qualified REALTOR.

Thanks for the heads up. Maybe sooner or later someone will make some WP Plugins that are actually useful to realtors or brokers.

    Loren:

I spoke to foreclosure.com yesterday, and they do send leads back to the Realtor displaying the search. I have installed it on the example blog I’m building as instruction for Realtors at http://DemoTownRealEstate.com. I would appreciate someone going there and doing a registration on a particular listing just to see if I do get the lead. If you give your email, I’ll let you know.

I don’t have the screen shots yet, but there is a page in the dashboard where you receive your leads. Their representative, Zack Preble, stated that they do not take nor sell leads. I’m still working on it, and I’ll let you know if there’s a surprise I’m not seeing.

    Hi Loren,

The leads collected by the plugin are for you the realtor NOT Foreclosure.com! This is VERY IMPORTANT to clarify. When a user browses the listings the plugin generates, they are asked to enter their contact information. That is a lead that the realtor can market to. A subset of those MIGHT subscribe to the Foreclosure.com service but the main purpose for a real estate agent to install the plugin is to collect leads and add content.

    Zack,
Yes leads can be collected. In the admin panel you can check a box that will force a name/email collection when a visitor clicks on a search result.

The whole point of almost ALL realtors blogs is to NOT put up a any sort of wall to get to what the visitor is looking for – homes.

Now, if you leave the box UNCHECKED and then the visitor does sign up at Foreclosure.com and then you send the signup info back to the Realtor then that would be a little better.
