How to Tether your Windows Mobile Phone to your Laptop

A while ago i wrote and article about how to Tether you Palm to your laptop so you can get internet access.

What I didn’t look into at the time was if it supports Windows Mobile Phones. Well yes it does and it makes life so much easier.

Why would you want to do this?

Well if you have High Speed access on your phone you can use your phone to get internet access on your laptop without having to purchase a seperate Broadband card from the cell phone companies.

You are now saving more money.

The application works with the following phones:
Treo 700w/700wx, Treo 750, Motorola Q, PPC/XV 6700, Samsung I730/I830, T-Mobile MDA, Cingular 8125.

Will it work for the AT&T Tilt (8925) that has Windows Mobile 6? It will upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 in the near future.

Yes, but you don’t need it. Windows Mobile has built in internet sharing. I’ve got the 8525 with 6.1 on it.

Look under programs and you will find internet sharing.

    1st plug phone into laptop
2nd run internet sharing on phone
    3rd internet should work

This is what I do and it works for me
